Course Overview

Mediation in Workplace Disputes is a 20-hour, 3-day basic course available from the Justice Center of Atlanta (JCA) only through a contract with an agency or corporation.

Mediation in Workplace Disputes is designed to meet the mediation training needs of the federal and private sector. This basic course focuses on disputes that arise in the workplace including EEO grievances; complaints concerning the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended (EEO matters); grievances of federal sector employees–both civilian and military–who must implement 29CFR Part 1614; and disputes in the corporate setting.

The course is intensive, highly participatory and designed to teach the mediation process, increase knowledge of the language of neutrality and resolution, and enhance communication and negotiation skills. The JCA teaches and practices the facilitative model of mediation.

Note

Attendance for the entire 20 hours is mandatory by JCA to receive a certificate for this training – no exceptions.

All of our instructors are registered mediators with the Supreme Court of Georgia and have many years of experience not only in training but in mediating cases also. All instructors actively mediate for JCA and other entities.
