WORDS MATTER: TURNING ESCALATING LANGUAGE INTO PRODUCTIVE CONVERSATION
November 13, 2026 – In person training – 9:00 AM-12:30 PM
Cost: $150
Presented by Tracy Gould Sheinin, Clarity Mediation
What happens when a mediation gets stuck in “always,” “never,” blame, accusations, and assumptions? Learn how the words we use can either escalate conflict—or create an opening for meaningful dialogue.
In this interactive 3-hour continuing education course, mediators will explore practical techniques for reframing emotionally charged language, asking questions that uncover what really matters, and maintaining neutrality while helping parties move from positions toward productive conversation.
Through discussion, demonstrations, and hands-on exercises, participants will leave with practical tools they can use immediately in their next mediation.
This course is approved by the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution for 3 hours of continuing education.
